Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. is seeking a Splicer for our construction team. You will splice fiber optic and copper cables, read and maintain splicing schematics, and oversee outside plant activities at assigned sites.

Travel up to 50% and overtime are expected; safety is a priority. You will also prepare field notes, interpret maps, and ensure documentation is accurate while coordinating with engineers and permits on project timelines.

Qualifications

• Splice cables using hand tools, epoxy, or mechanical equipment.
• Read and maintain splicing schematics/diagrams.
• Interpret staking sheets and blueprints.
• Maintain safety procedures and DOT compliance.
• Travel up to 50% and work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Splice cables using hand tools, epoxy, or mechanical equipment.
• Splice fiber optic and copper cables, including loose tube and ribbon cables, ensure proper splice case.
• Interpret staking sheets and blueprints.
• Work per industry standards; follow RUS standards and engineers’ instructions.
• Prepare engineering field notes and interpret buried/overhead telecom facilities.
• Suggest changes in running line or construction methods.
• Participate in engineering, permit, and construction processes.
• Measure signal strength at poles with test equipment.
• Inspect or test lines/cables and record results.
• Perform routine maintenance and manage related paperwork.
