Job summary

Congruex is seeking a Fiber Splicing Technician I, II, III to install, test, and maintain fiber optic networks for broadband providers and internal teams. You will splice, troubleshoot, and repair aerial and underground systems, ensuring safety and timely project delivery.

Qualified candidates have 3–5+ years in fiber splicing, familiarity with engineering drawings and testing equipment, and the ability to operate bucket trucks or work on poles. Travel up to 25–50% may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 3–5+ years of fiber optic splicing experience.
• Experience in telecommunications construction, including aerial and underground fiber systems.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work orders, drawings, specs, and cut sheets to determine work sequence.
• Perform fiber optic splicing, repairs, and testing for aerial and underground systems.
• Install passive and active devices, enclosures, and terminal panels.
• Use OTDR, light meters, and testing equipment to verify signal quality and troubleshoot issues.
• Pull fiber optic cable through conduit by various methods.
• Operate bucket trucks or climb poles to place and maintain cable systems.
