Job summary

Congruex is seeking a Traveling Fiber Splicer to install, splice, test, and maintain fiber optic systems for aerial and underground networks. You will support construction teams with high-quality fiber installations and ensure safe, accurate project completion.

This role involves travel and collaboration with providers, internal teams, project managers, and clients. You will read drawings and orders, splice and test with OTDR equipment, and manage documentation while adhering to safety and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work orders, engineering drawings, specifications, and cut sheets to determine work sequence
• Perform fiber optic splicing, repairs, testing, and certification for aerial and underground communication systems
• Install passive and active devices, enclosures, and terminal panels
• Test fiber optic systems for continuity and signal quality using light meters and OTDR equipment
• Pull fiber optic cable through existing duct systems and conduit
• Splice and activate underground and aerial fiber optic cable systems
• Optimize network nodes and complete node splits to improve system capacity
• Safely operate bucket trucks or climb utility poles to install and maintain fiber optic cable systems
• Complete production documentation, verify system performance following activation, and troubleshoot as necessary
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and governmental regulations
• Travel for extended periods on multi-week rotations to support projects across various locations
