Job summary

Cable Services Company, Inc. is seeking a Fiber Splicer to install, troubleshoot and maintain fiber optic systems across a multi‑state Northeast area. The role requires frequent travel, overnight hours, and shared weekend on‑call status for emergencies.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years' experience splicing all types of fiber optic cables.
High school diploma or GED.
Experience working in a bucket truck at heights above 30‑40 ft.
Proficiency using fusion splicers, OTDR, optical power meters and related tools.
Ability to distinguish colors.
Experience reading design maps and fiber schematics.
Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must be able to lift/move up to 80 pounds.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic system.
Prep and hang fiber optic enclosures, nodes and related equipment.
Route, splice and terminate fiber in racks at central offices, hub sites or buildings.
Perform fusion splicing as directed with OSP Project Managers.
Read design maps and fiber schematics.
Operate aerial lifts and related equipment.
On-call for emergency restoration.
Maintain company documentation (timesheets, reports).
Handle company vehicle, tools, and equipment safely.
Support project completion with safe practices.
