Essential functions include installing and maintaining fiber systems, reading maps, and ensuring safety. Frequent travel and overtime may be required to meet project deadlines, with pre-employment testing and background checks conducted.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience splicing all types of fiber optic cables
• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience in bucket truck at heights >30-40 ft required
• Proficiency with fusion splicers, OTDR, optical power meters, and related tools
• Must have color vision and the ability to read design maps and fiber schematics
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Able to lift up to 80 pounds
• Willingness to travel overnight and be on-call for emergencies

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic system
• Prep and hang fiber optic enclosures, nodes and related equipment
• Route, splice and terminate fiber in equipment racks
• Read design maps and fiber schematics
• Operate aerial lift and related equipment
• Be on-call for emergency restoration
• Complete timesheets, truck reports and expense reports
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment
• Work safely per company policies
