Job summary

Uniti Group Inc. through its Kinetic unit is hiring a Construction Tech - Splicer to splice fiber optic and copper cables, read schematics, and maintain splice records. The role includes outdoor/indoor work, safety focus, and DOT compliance.

The position requires travel (potentially >50%), weekends/holidays, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Prior splice experience or trade school certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of copper and/or fiber cable splicing experience or related Trade School certification in-lieu of one year of experience.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, year-round.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Ability to pass DOT certification and travel.

Responsibilities

• Splice cables using hand tools, epoxy or mechanical equipment and maintain splice records.
• Read staking sheets and blueprints; adhere to safety procedures.
• Prepare engineering field notes and interpret buried telecom facilities in records and maps.
• Participate in engineering, permit and construction processes as required.
• Measure signal strength and test lines; locate faults or malfunctions.
• Perform routine maintenance and outside plant construction tasks.
