Job summary

Uniti is seeking a Construction Tech - Splicer to splice fiber optic and copper cables outdoors and indoors, read schematics, and maintain splice records. The role involves traveling up to 50% of the year, weekend and holiday work, and safety oversight on-site.

Responsibilities include constructing splice cases, following RUS standards, and performing routine maintenance while adhering to safety procedures. CDL eligibility and a valid license are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of copper and/or fiber splicing experience or trade school certification.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain CDL.
• Ability to travel.
• On-call schedule rotation, day/night/weekends/overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Splice cables using hand tools, epoxy, or mechanical equipment.
• Splice fiber optic and copper cables and construct splice cases.
• Maintain splicing records, schematics, and diagrams.
• Read staking sheets and blueprints; follow engineers’ instructions.
