Job summary

IQ Fiber is seeking a Construction Technician in the Dover, DE area to perform field installation, maintenance, and relocation of fiber infrastructure. You will work hands-on outdoors, digging by hand, trenching, and mounting conduit and equipment while upholding safety standards.

Successful candidates will have at least a high school diploma and 1 year of telecom construction experience, be able to lift 75 pounds, and work 24/7 OT as required, delivering reliable service to customers.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; minimum 1 year telecommunications construction experience preferred.
Familiar with fiber installation, conduit work, and underground plant maintenance; ability to build small networks for MDU/public spaces.
Valid driver's license with clean MVR; able to drive night and in adverse weather.
Must pass background check and drug screening; available for 24/7 operations and overtime as needed.
Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly and work outdoors year-round.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair fiber optic network infrastructure and conduit in the field.
Locate and mark existing underground cables to protect infrastructure during excavation.
Repair damaged underground plant and assist with restoration to minimize downtime.
Ensure OSHA safety standards and regulatory compliance on all assignments.
Represent IQ Fiber professionally in residential and commercial settings.
