Job summary

IQ Fiber in Savannah, GA is hiring an Outside Plant Construction Technician responsible for daily maintenance and expansion of our fiber network, moving vaults, digging conduit, and installing fiber to new properties.

The job requires performing installations, repairs, and locating existing cables, following OSHA safety standards, and providing quality service to customers. Must be able to lift 75 lb, climb ladders, work overtime, and pass background and drug checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 1 year telecom construction experience preferred.
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and lift heavy loads.
• Must pass background check and drug screening; valid driver’s license with clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Maintain existing and construct new fiber plant, including digging and pulling fiber.
• Install, repair, and maintain inside fiber cables and MDU boxes.
• Accurately locate and mark underground cables from locate tickets.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with safety standards.
