Job summary

IQ Fiber is seeking a Construction Technician to build and maintain our fiber optic network in Timonium, MD. You will install, repair, and relocate conduit and fiber, locate underground cables, and work in a field environment with safety as priority.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to work independently, and a readiness for 24/7 operations, including overtime and weekends. You’ll represent IQ Fiber professionally while delivering reliable service to customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Telecom construction experience preferred; 1 year minimum.
• Valid driver's license with clean MVR and auto insurance.
• Pass a background check and drug screening.
• Able to lift 75 pounds and work outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair fiber optic infrastructure including conduit placement.
• Locate and mark underground cables per locate tickets and protect infrastructure.
• Repair damaged underground plant and assist with restoration during outages.
• Maintain safety standards and professional demeanor in the field.
• Drive to job sites and support 24/7 operations including overtime.
