Job summary

Lumos is seeking an Onsite OSP Construction Project Engineer to lead fiber network builds across the Sumter market. You will oversee contractor performance, manage safety, quality, schedule, and budget, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to keep projects moving from readiness to closeout.

You will travel between active sites, ensure OSHA/NESC compliance, and work in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering reliable connectivity to communities Lumos serves.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in OSP construction, telecommunications engineering, network deployment, or related field operations.
• Experience supervising contractors and multiple active projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of aerial, underground, and buried fiber construction and relevant safety standards (OSHA/NESC).
• Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Own multiple OSP builds across the market from construction readiness through closeout.
• Set expectations for contractors and subcontractors, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget are met.
• Track production, schedules, costs, risks, and field progress and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
• Inspect active jobsites to ensure compliance with standards.
• Coordinate permitting, materials, utilities, municipalities, and field dependencies.
• Resolve field roadblocks and community concerns quickly and professionally.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Permitting, and Supply Chain to improve planning and execution.
