Job summary

Lumos is seeking an OSP Construction Project Engineer for the Panama City, FL market. This field-based role requires onsite work, with travel to active jobsites and the ability to reside within 30 miles of the market.

You will oversee multiple fiber builds, manage contractors, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery. You will coordinate across teams, monitor budgets, and strive for efficient, scalable construction processes while upholding Lumos' standards and commitment to community

Qualifications

• 5+ years in OSP construction, telecommunications, or related field operations.
• Strong knowledge of aerial, underground, and buried fiber with OSHA/NESC requirements.
• Experience managing contractors and several active construction projects at the same time.
• Strong project management, problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Valid, unrestricted driver's license and ability to travel throughout the market; company vehicle and mobile phone provided.

Responsibilities

• Own multiple OSP builds across the market from construction readiness through closeout.
• Set clear expectations for contractors and subcontractors, holding teams accountable for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
• Track production, schedules, costs, risks, and field progress, and keep stakeholders informed with clear, timely updates.
• Inspect active jobsites and ensure work meets OSHA, NESC, Lumos, and applicable construction standards.
• Coordinate permitting, materials, utilities, municipalities, and other field dependencies that keep construction moving.
• Resolve field roadblocks and community concerns quickly, professionally, and with sound judgment.
• Partner across Engineering, Operations, Permitting, and Supply Chain to improve how Lumos plans, builds, and scales.
