Job summary

Lumos is seeking an OSP Construction Project Engineer to lead fiber network builds across the Summerville market. You will oversee contractor performance, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure safety and quality from field readiness to closeout.

The role requires residing within an hour of Summerville, SC, and travel to active job sites as needed. You'll collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Permitting, and Supply Chain to optimize Lumos construction programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in OSP construction, telecommunications engineering, network deployment, or related field operations.
• Strong knowledge of aerial, underground, and buried fiber construction, including OSHA and NESC requirements.
• Experience managing contractors and several active construction projects at the same time.
• Strong project management, problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Valid, unrestricted driver's license and ability to travel throughout the market; company vehicle and mobile phone provided.

Responsibilities

• Own multiple OSP builds across the market from construction readiness through closeout.
• Set clear expectations for contractors and subcontractors, holding teams accountable for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
• Track production, schedules, costs, risks, and field progress, and keep stakeholders informed with clear, timely updates.
• Inspect active jobsites and ensure work meets OSHA, NESC, Lumos, and applicable construction standards.
• Coordinate permitting, materials, utilities, municipalities, and other field dependencies that keep construction moving.
• Resolve field roadblocks and community concerns quickly, professionally, and with sound judgment.
• Partner across Engineering, Operations, Permitting, and Supply Chain to improve how Lumos plans, builds, and scales.
