Job summary

Lumos is seeking an OSP Construction Project Engineer to lead fiber builds across the Volusia County market. You will manage contractors, ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence, and drive projects from readiness to closeout.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, track progress, and resolve field challenges while maintaining high quality and efficiency. This role requires onsite presence and travel within the market.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in OSP construction, telecommunications engineering, or related field operations.
• Strong knowledge of aerial, underground, and buried fiber construction including OSHA and NESC requirements.
• Experience managing contractors and several active construction projects at the same time.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Valid, unrestricted driver's license and ability to travel throughout the market.

Responsibilities

• Own multiple OSP builds across the market from construction readiness through closeout.
• Set clear expectations for contractors and subcontractors, holding teams accountable for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
• Track production, schedules, costs, risks, and field progress, and keep stakeholders informed with clear, timely updates.
• Inspect active jobsites and ensure work meets OSHA, NESC, Lumos, and construction standards.
• Coordinate permitting, materials, utilities, municipalities, and other field dependencies that keep construction moving.
• Resolve field roadblocks and community concerns quickly, professionally, and with sound judgment.
• Partner across Engineering, Operations, Permitting, and Supply Chain to improve Lumos planning, building, and scaling.
