Job summary

Astound is seeking an Outside Plant Technician in Framingham, MA to maintain and repair aerial and underground coax and fiber infrastructure. The role involves working outdoors daily with bucket trucks, ladders, and hand tools to restore service and support network reliability.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose outages, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation. Documentation of work orders and logs is required, and safety procedures must be followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years hands-on telecom field work experience (coax, fiber, or electrical) preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret maps.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient problem solving and time management.
• Bucket Certified; Ohm’s understood.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair aerial and underground coax and fiber infrastructure.
• Detect, troubleshoot and resolve system outages.
• Perform preventative maintenance and bring systems to reliability.
• Install, replace, and repair cabling; conduct splicing.
• Prepare documentation; complete work orders and logs.
• Operate bucket trucks, ladders, and field equipment.
