Job summary

Bristol Alliance of Companies is seeking a Drop Installer I in Hawaii to install and maintain telecommunications cables, including fiber optics and copper lines, connecting residential and commercial properties to the network. The role requires basic technical aptitude, safety awareness, and ability to work on-call or weekends.

Responsibilities include installing cable systems, splicing, testing, and coordinating with teams while ensuring high-quality service and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of telecommunication products and services, including fiber optics and copper facilities.
• Familiarity with tools and equipment used in cable installation (fiber optic splicers, cleavers, strippers, trenching equipment).
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Safety awareness and compliance with OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure cable systems, including internet, TV, and phone services.
• Lay aerial and underground fiber and copper cables to connect customer premises.
• Install enclosures (pedestals, handholes) and other infrastructure components.
• Label facilities to identify and trace wiring.
• Assist with fiber optic splicing and repairs.
• Perform signal testing and troubleshoot for optimal service performance.
• Maintain and organize tools and equipment; document work performed.
• Provide excellent customer service and explain services to customers.
