Shermco is hiring a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to embed with business units, identifying AI opportunities from field operations to deliver measurable value. You will work with sales, finance, HR, and other functions to move from discovery to production, using Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Fabric, Claude, and other approved tools.

You will own deployment from discovery to production, collaborating with the AI Product Engineer and governance teams, while traveling to business unit locations

Qualificações

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, applied machine learning, or related technical role, including 2+ years building AI in production.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, plus experience integrating with REST APIs and enterprise systems.
• Hands‑on experience building with LLMs, including prompt design, retrieval‑augmented generation, tool use, and basic evaluation.
• Experience with a cloud AI platform such as Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI.
• Ability to run discovery with stakeholders and translate ambiguous problems into scoped, buildable solutions.
• Track record of shipping quickly, measuring results, and iterating based on user feedback.
• Clear written and verbal communication including explaining AI capabilities, limits, and risks to non‑technical audiences.
• Comfort traveling ~10% and managing several engagements.

Responsabilidades

• Embedded Discovery: understand workflows, scope problems, size AI opportunities, and identify when AI is not right.
• Build and Delivery: create solutions quickly using Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Fabric, Power Platform, Claude, Python; integrate with enterprise systems.
• Production Ownership and Handoff: take low-code/config solutions to production with documentation and ownership; hand off to AI Product Engineer when deep code is needed.
• Adoption and Enablement: drive adoption through training, office hours, champions, and user feedback to shape roadmap.
• Team Practice: use AI-assisted development, share patterns, provide peer reviews, and contribute to Shermco's AI standards.
