Job summary

Avetix Engineering is seeking a field evaluation engineer to perform on-site assessments of electrical equipment in California. You will work autonomously at customer sites and report to the head of field evaluation.

Responsibilities include evaluating switchboards and panels against UL 891, NFPA 79, and UL 508A, producing clean reports, resolving on-site non-conformities, and expanding the customer base through territory development. Frequent travel and some nights/weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of UL 891 (switchboards) required.
• Familiarity with NFPA 79 (industrial machinery) and UL 508A (industrial control panels).
• Background in field evaluation, AHJ, panel shop or electrical inspection.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends as required by field schedules.
• High levels of travel, including out-of-state travel.

Our client is an established global testing, inspection and certification provider with a growing North American footprint. Their field evaluation team works directly on customer sites, assessing equipment that falls outside standard listed-product routes and helping manufacturers, panel builders and end users achieve compliance quickly.

This is a field-facing engineering position covering California. You'll carry out field evaluations of industrial and commercial electrical equipment, working autonomously on customer sites and reporting directly into the head of the field evaluation function.

Requirements

• Familiarity with NFPA 79 (industrial machinery) and UL 508A (industrial control panels)
• Field evaluation, AHJ, panel shop or electrical inspection background
• Willingness to work nights and weekends — this is a genuine requirement, not an occasional exception, as much of the work happens outside customer production hours
• High levels of travel, including out of state
