Job summary

Avetix Engineering seeks a senior field-based electrical engineer to support a manufacturing facility project in the US, focusing on medium-voltage switchgear, industrial machinery and automation.

You will perform on-site inspections roughly 1–3 days per week, manage projects from scope to final report, and advise on corrective actions per applicable standards. You will also contribute to MV and switchgear work, NFPA 79 and IEC 60204-1 assessments, across a broader portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years of relevant field experience in testing, inspection and certification of industrial equipment.
• Working knowledge of IEEE C37.20.3 and IEEE C37.74 as core standards for active projects.
• Knowledge of IEC 60204-1 and NFPA 79, plus robotics and industrial functional safety is a plus.

Job description

Our client is a global leader in testing, inspection and certification with a long-established North American footprint. This role sits within their industrial equipment business, supporting manufacturers across medium-voltage switchgear, industrial machinery and automation.

The role

A senior, field-based engineering position anchored around an active client project at a manufacturing facility, with wider field work across the industrial portfolio filling the remainder of the diary.

How the week looks

• The anchor account requires on-site support roughly one to three days per week, carrying out inspections at their manufacturing facility
• Demand is forecast month by month, so the schedule is predictable rather than reactive
• You'd cover approximately three weeks per month on this account, with a second engineer handling the remaining visit as relationship management
• The balance of your time goes to other field opportunities across the industrial space — MV and switchgear work, NFPA 79 and IEC 60204-1 assessments
