Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Field Evaluations Engineer to conduct on-site labeling and certification testing for industrial machinery and electrical systems in the western United States. This role involves managing client projects and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Candidates should have familiarity with various electrical codes and standards. Frequent travel, approximately 80%, is required for this position. A referral bonus of up to $1,000 is offered for successful hires.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with NFPA 79, UL 508A, IEC/EN/UL/CSA 61010-1, UL 2011, EN 60204-1, EN ISO 10218.
• Knowledge of NEC, CEC, and relevant local/provincial electrical codes.
• Knowledge of NEC, CEC, and relevant local electrical codes.

X4 Engineering has teamed up with a leading U.S. Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) company to hire a Field Evaluations Engineer to support projects for the west coast. In this role, you’ll perform on-site labeling, certification testing, and compliance evaluations for industrial machinery and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct field labeling and certification testing in line with applicable domestic regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Provide clear feedback to customers regarding any compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
• Design and implement test strategies to assess compliance, functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Manage assigned client projects by selecting suitable testing methods and equipment while ensuring the correct application of standards.

Key Requirements

• Familiarity with standards such as NFPA 79, UL 508A, IEC/EN/UL/CSA 61010-1, UL 2011, EN 60204-1, EN ISO 10218, ANSI/RIA R15.06, and UL 1740 is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with both internal teams and external clients.
• Knowledge of NEC, CEC, and relevant local/provincial electrical codes.

Note: This role requires frequent travel, approximately 80% across Western States.
