Job summary

Reworld is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to oversee on-site environmental programs at our Haverhill facilities, with 80% focus on the Thermomechanical Treatment facility and 20% on transfer stations and landfills. You will ensure air, water, ash, and waste program compliance, work with operations teams, and prepare regulatory submissions.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a relevant field and at least 3 years of on-site compliance experience in heavy industry or energy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, biology, or related scientific discipline.
• At least three years of on-site environmental compliance experience in heavy industry, energy, or comparable facilities.
• Direct participation in permits, regulatory reports, and inspections across programs (air, water, solid/hazardous waste).
• Experience with environmental testing, monitoring, data review, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental compliance programs for air emissions, CEMS, ash, solid waste, stormwater, wastewater, and hazardous waste.
• Participate in facility permit applications, renewals, and modifications and supporting documentation.
• Complete and review environmental testing, monitoring, data, records, and regulatory reports; ensure submittals meet standards.
• Conduct environmental walkdowns at facilities and document findings; coordinate corrective actions through closure.
• Support air-emissions and CEMS activities, including review of emissions records and equipment logs.
• Coordinate testing and compliance work with consultants, engineers, and laboratories.
• Analyze environmental data to identify risks, trends, and improvements.
• Support regulatory-inspection readiness and communicate technical matters clearly to teams and regulators.
• Monitor federal/state regulatory changes and help update permits, test plans, procedures, and compliance strategies.
• Support growth initiatives and community outreach for mercury and mercury-containing products diversion.
