Job summary

ArborMetrics (AMS) is seeking an Environmental Construction Specialist to perform field oversight on electric utility construction projects. This role focuses on environmental compliance, site development, and coordination with Duke Energy and other stakeholders.

The position requires a degree in environmental science or related field and 1–5 years of site development experience. A valid driver's license and outdoor work readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Construction Management, Building Science, or related field.
• 1-5 years’ experience in Site Development work or permitting utility construction.
• Solid understanding of NPDES CGP SWPPP implementation and inspections.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong public relations and ability to interface with the public.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide Environmental Compliance and construction oversight on transmission site development and linear transmission projects.
• Ensure compliance with NPDES SWPPP permits and related regulations.
• Document field conditions to verify permit compliance and necessary mitigations.
• Oversee erosion control and sediment management and coordinate with BMP contractors.
• Communicate with project management, clients, landowners, and public daily.
• Assist in developing recommendations for ROW maintenance.
