Job summary

Clean Harbors in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Healthcare Site Chemist (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste in accordance with Federal/State/Local regulations and our company policies and procedures.

This position will work both indoors and outdoors at plants, labs, customer sites and are responsible for assisting with lab packs within customer facilities, household hazardous waste (HHW) collections and lab moves.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s license required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• By position, obtain CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months of employment.
• Must be able to perform physical functions per job requirements.
• Background check, drug test, and physical required by position.
• OSHA respiratory protection facial hair standards as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is a priority and follow safe work practices.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restriction notices.
• Inspect staging areas for housekeeping and compliance.
• Inspect drums for leaks, spills, and labeling compliance.
• Package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and comply with policies.
• Perform jobs at customer locations, including Fortune 500 clients.
• Prepare and approve projects before shipment per OSHA/EPA/DOT guidelines.
• Follow site-specific regulatory health and safety plans.
• Understand customer disposal restrictions and special packaging needs.
• Sample and profile new waste streams for testing.
• Ensure drums are countable and ship-ready per policies.
