Job summary

Clean Harbors in Forest Lake, MN is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste in accordance with regulations. This is a customer-facing role working at customer sites daily, with indoor and outdoor duties and potential lab-pack assistance.

The position is entry level and offers on-site training across 200+ locations, with advancement pathways into management after 18–36 months and growth opportunities across Clean Harbors’

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license is required.
• CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months of employment.
• Background check, drug test, and physical may be required.
• Facial hair standards per OSHA respirator requirements.
• College degree in Chemistry or Natural Science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority and follow all safety practices.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifest, and disposal notifications.
• Inspect staging, storage areas and drums for leaks and labeling compliance.
• Package waste chemicals for disposal and assist with lab moves at sites.
• Perform duties at customer locations and ensure project readiness before shipment.
• Comply with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company policies and regulations.
• Operate vehicles safely per DOT and local regulations.
• Support lab packs, HHW collections, and site-specific packaging rules.
• Other duties as assigned by supervision.
