Job summary

Clean Harbors in Kent, WA is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste in accordance with Federal, state and local regulations and our policies.

This is a customer facing, entry level position with rapid training and advancement. You will work at customer sites daily, with opportunities to move into salary management roles after 18–36 months and transfer across 200+ locations.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s license required and clean driving record.
• Customer service skills to interact with clients at sites.
• CDL Class B with hazmat/tanker endorsement within 6 months of employment.
• Able to perform physical functions per job requirements.
• Background check, drug test, and medical/physical as applicable.
• Facial hair standards for respirator use per OSHA guidance.

Responsibilities

• Handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste per regs and policies.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifest and disposal notifications.
• Inspect staging, storage areas for housekeeping and compliance.
• Inspect drums for leaks, labeling, and shippability.
• Package waste chemicals for disposal and assist with lab moves.
• Work at customer sites daily and support Clean Harbors projects.
• Assist with regulatory adherence and safety plans on sites.
