Job summary

State of Nevada seeks an Engineering Technician 4 to support professional engineers in field and laboratory testing, surveying, and inspection activities. The role involves drafting, data analysis, document preparation, and interaction with contractors and the public in diverse environments.

Requirements include an Associate's degree in engineering or related field with relevant experience; alternatively, a high school diploma with more extensive work history in engineering functions.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in engineering or related field with two years of experience in engineering functions.
• High school diploma with three years of progressive engineering experience.
• One year of experience as Engineering Technician III in Nevada State service.
• Equivalent education/experience combinations accepted.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in field and laboratory tests and equipment setup.
• Gather and analyze data, conduct research, and ensure policy conformance.
• Review bid documents, plans, right-of-way plans, and test results for compliance.
• Perform field inspections of construction projects, wells, and safety barriers.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment and keep accurate records.
