Job summary

NC Department of Transportation seeks an Engineering Technician I (S) to support engineers with inspection, surveying, sampling and testing in District 3. Two positions will be filled from this posting.

Salary for NC07 ranges from $37,377.00 to $65,408.00 per year, with full state benefits including health insurance, retirement, paid leave, and more. Applicants with at least two years of related experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking and completing projects independently or with limited supervision.
• Experience applying engineering concepts to solve complex problems.
• Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments.
• Knowledge of standards and specifications and plan reading experience.
• Knowledge and skill in the use of computer equipment, iPad and software.

Responsibilities

• Support technicians and engineers in inspection, surveying and testing tasks.
• Perform calculations and data processing for field data.
• Maintain accurate records and safety compliance.
