Job summary

State of North Carolina - Department of Transportation is seeking an Engineering Technician I (S) in District 3 offices to support technicians and engineers in construction inspection, surveying, testing, and data collection. Two (2) positions will be filled from this posting. Positions 60022235 and 60022288 requires the performance of a wide variety of standardized and non- standardized tests and assignments in compiling, analyzing, computing, editing, and processing field data. This work involves limited decision making and use of judgment. The successful applicant must perform a full range of calculations and computations. This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. You must perform a full range of calculations and computations and be proficient in record keeping. Safety toe shoes required. Selected candidate must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle.You do not have to have a degree to qualify for this position.
