Job summary

The State of North Carolina - Department of Transportation is seeking an Engineering Technician III (S) to support Location & Surveys by providing advanced technical work, base mapping for highway design, and data analysis. This role requires leading a survey crew, using conventional surveying, CADD, and GPS to produce accurate mapping.

Applicants should have an Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Survey Technology and at least three years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or related field
• Three (3) years of progressive technician level experience in surveying or related work

Responsibilities

• Lead survey crew during field operations and ensure safety
• Provide base mapping for highway design using conventional surveys, CADD, and GPS
• Review field data and CAD maps for completeness and accuracy
• Direct the work of other technicians and coordinate with engineers
