State of North Carolina - Department of Transportation is seeking an Engineering Technician I (S) in District 3 offices to support technicians and engineers in construction inspection, surveying, testing, and data collection. Qualified applicants may have an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience; two years of related experience are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in an applicable area of Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or related; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of related experience encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support technicians and engineers in construction inspection, guardrail inspection, surveying, materials sampling and testing.
• Perform calculations and data processing for field data.
• Maintain records and ensure safety requirements including safety toe shoes.
• Operate a state vehicle as required.
