Job summary

Manson Construction Co. in Seattle, WA is seeking an Engineering Intern to support the Project Management Team across our northwest job sites. The role provides onsite engineering and technical support, quality control, construction management assistance, land surveys, and a strong emphasis on safety.

Travel is extensive and dredging or marine construction experience is preferred. Interns work both in the office and in the field, assisting with CAD analyses, quantity takeoffs, and coordination

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing degrees in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree from a four-year nationally accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Reporting of daily activities of a construction or yard operations crew.
• Cost and implementation comparison of as-built construction activities to the as-bid estimates.
• Quantity tracking
• Formwork and falsework details
• Coordinate with project foremen and superintendents to write work procedures for activities
• Development of project work element plans and hazard analysis
• Computer Aided Drafting for analysis of equipment capabilities, depiction of work methods, access, and sequencing
• Quantity takeoffs
• Reading job specific specifications and standard specifications
• Subcontractor and supplier coordination and quote comparisons
• Estimate cost analysis and detail entry
• Form and falsework detailing
• Equipment analysis
• Ensures compliance with Manson's Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
• Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment
• Additional duties may be assigned
