Field Engineer Intern – Marine Construction & PM

Job summary

Manson Construction Co. seeks an Engineering Intern to support the Project Management Team across west coast job sites. This role provides onsite engineering, technical support, quality control, and construction management assistance.

Interns gain exposure to land surveying, CAD analysis, and safety program implementation, with travel required and a split between field and office work. Dredging experience is preferred, and driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing degrees in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree from a four-year nationally accredited college or university.
• Must have a valid Driver's License, and acceptable driving record
• Experience with AutoCAD is preferred

Responsibilities

• Reporting daily activities of a construction or yard operations crew
• Cost and implementation comparison of as-built construction activities to the as-bid estimates
• Quantity tracking
• Formwork and falsework details
• Coordinate with project foremen and superintendents to write work procedures for activities
• Development of project work element plans and hazard analysis
• Computer Aided Drafting for analysis of equipment capabilities, depiction of work methods, access, and sequencing
• Quantity takeoffs
• Reading job specific specifications and standard specifications
• Subcontractor and supplier coordination and quote comparisons
• Estimate cost analysis and detail entry
• Form and falsework detailing
• Equipment analysis
• Ensures compliance with Manson's Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
• Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment
• Additional duties may be assigned
