Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation’s Automated Logic unit is seeking a Field Engineer to deliver durable HVAC and building automation solutions. You will apply sound technical judgment to complex projects, own actions from start to finish, and travel as needed to support ongoing operations.

You will lead systems installation and optimization, train owners, manage risks with Project Managers, and document progress to drive continuous improvement while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of professional experience in HVAC, Building automation, Information Technology, or Industrial Networking, including direct experience with IP networking, Modbus protocols, or PLC programming.
• Must possess a valid, current Driver’s License and be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier.
• Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as squatting and climbing for extended periods.
• Capable of working over 8 feet above grade and proficient in the use of ladders and motorized lift equipment.

Responsibilities

• System Performance: Install, commission, and optimize advanced DDC systems, ensuring controls, sensors, and networks meet performance standards.
• Proactive Problem Solving: Use technical judgment to solve automation challenges and mitigate project risks before they impact timelines.
• Technical Leadership: Train owners on system operation and partner with Project Managers to manage risks and improve execution.
• Travel & Growth: Travel as needed and adapt to changing schedules while taking end-to-end ownership of complex projects.
• Project Integrity: Maintain accurate documentation and participate in project reviews to drive continuous improvement.
