Job summary

RS&H is seeking a Civil Field Engineer/CEI Inspector to support transportation construction projects across Texas. You will monitor on-site activities, inspect materials, and ensure compliance with plans, specs, and contract documents while collaborating with a team of professionals.

Ideal candidates are graduating in May 2027, possess an ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering or related field, have strong communication skills, and hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree required in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Must obtain required certifications within stated time frames.
• Ability to sit/stand/bend frequently and perform field tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain detailed records of contractor daily operations.
• Monitor work zone traffic control plan for discrepancies.
• Monitor erosion control plan for discrepancies.
• Perform sampling and testing of materials and completed work.
• Verify dimensions of prepared and completed work.
• Inspect construction work and conduct field tests.
• Track/measure completed work quantities for payment.
• Perform survey checks.
