Job summary

NSB Omega in Lake Charles, LA is seeking a Field Engineer to support construction, commissioning, and startup for capital projects and facility modifications. The role coordinates with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, HSE, Quality, and Contractors to ensure turnover packages are complete and ready for safe start-up.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with system turnover, mechanical completion, punch-list management, field verification, and PSSR execution, and must be able to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of field engineering, construction, commissioning, or industrial facility execution.
• Experience with system turnover, mechanical completion, punch-list management, and PSSR.
• Ability to read P&IDs, equipment drawings, specs, electrical one-lines, and vendor docs.
• Knowledge of MOC, PSM, PHA, and startup-readiness requirements.
• Strong communication, documentation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide field engineering support during construction, commissioning, and startup.
• Verify installed equipment and systems conform to drawings and specs.
• Develop and maintain system boundaries, turnover sequences, and completion status.
• Coordinate turnover packages including drawings, P&IDs, vendor data, and turnover docs.
• Lead system walkdowns and identify incomplete or nonconforming work.
• Plan, coordinate, and participate in PSSR activities and startup readiness.
• Track actions to completion and obtain approvals before startup.
