Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer to support Southeast District projects across the Southeast U.S. You will assist with drawings, layouts, surveys, and safety reviews while gaining broad exposure to heavy civil construction and transportation work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a construction-related field (civil engineering, mechanical, construction management, mining, geotechnical).
• Willingness to travel and relocate to varied cities as needed for national work.
• Ability to access construction sites in varying climates and environments.
• Strong work ethic and initiative; safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and supervision.
• Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevations and control points.
• Prepare work plans, packages, and cost data with project teams.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and drafting to support field ops.
• Support in daily timekeeping, JHA preparation, and safety reviews.
• Coordinate material deliveries and plan work groups on-site.
• Supervise field operations and assist in submittals and RFIs.
• Contribute to bid data analysis and historical project data review.
• Prepare purchase orders and subcontract documents as needed.
