Job summary

Hensel Phelps in Washington, DC is seeking a Field Engineer who will support the Superintendent with field management, layout, safety, and quality control on project sites. You will perform project layout and check forms, analyze production trends, and coordinate with trade partners to keep schedules and costs on track.

The position requires a 4-year degree in Civil/Structural/Architecture/Construction Management, plus at least one year of related experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Architecture/Construction Management.
• At least 1 year of related experience or equivalent education.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency with Excel, ProjectSight, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite.

Responsibilities

• Project layout (surveying) in conformance with design and contract documents.
• Check concrete forms for accuracy and adequacy of construction.
• Perform production trend analysis for quantities of work in place.
• Assist with quality control, site safety initiatives and coordination of trade partners.
• Oversight of trade partners, as assigned, and direction of workforces.
