Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Field Engineer to assist the Superintendent with front-line field management on major projects. The FE will lead layout, oversee trades, lift drawings, safety, and quality control, while coordinating with the VDC team and field staff.

The ideal candidate has a 4‑year civil/construction degree, 1 year of related experience, and a valid driver’s license. This on-site role emphasizes safety, accountability, and teamwork on complex builds.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
• 1 year of experience and/or a combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Project layout (surveying) per design and contract documents.
• Check concrete forms for accuracy and adequacy.
• Perform production trend analysis for quantities of work and report for schedules and cost control.
• Assist with quality control, safety initiatives and coordination of trade partners.
• Coordinate material deliveries and inspect materials for quantity and quality.
