Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Field Engineer to support the Superintendent in front-line field management on national projects. The FE will assist with layout, quality control, safety initiatives, and coordination of trade partners, with some field office duties.

The role emphasizes jobsite safety, data-driven scheduling input, and collaboration with the VDC team; a 4-year civil/related degree and current driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
• 1 year of experience and/or a combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Strong communication skills.
• Microsoft Office Excel, ProjectSight, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite experience.

Responsibilities

• Project layout (surveying) in conformance with design and contract documents.
• Check concrete forms for accuracy and adequacy of construction, including embedded items.
• Perform production trend analysis for quantities of work in place and report for schedule & cost control.
• Assist with quality control, site safety initiatives and coordination of trade partners.
• Coordinate material deliveries by checking requirements and delivery status.
• Inspect materials delivered for quantity, quality, and condition; report damages.
