Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Field Engineer to support the Superintendent with field management and layout work on projects. You will help with form checks, safety, and quality control while coordinating with trade partners in a hands-on environment.

The role typically progresses toward Office Engineer or Project Engineer positions and requires a Civil/Construction-related degree with at least 1 year of experience and a valid license.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
• 1 year of experience or a combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office; experience using ProjectSight, Primavera & AutoDesk Suite.

Responsibilities

• Project layout (surveying) in conformance with design and contract documents.
• Check concrete forms for accuracy and adequacy of construction, including embedded items.
• Perform production trend analysis for quantities of work in place and report for schedules.
• Assist with quality control, site safety initiatives and coordination of trade partners.
• Coordinate material deliveries and inspect materials for quantity, quality and condition.
• Collaborate with the VDC team on scope of work, execution plan and deliverables.
• Review and navigate within the current 3D model viewing and scheduling software.
