Job summary

Luster National, Inc. is seeking Field Engineers at multiple levels to support large heavy civil infrastructure programs across highways, bridges, transit, aviation, and water projects.

You will verify on-site work against approved docs, maintain field records, and build the factual basis for decisions. Responsibilities scale with experience, including QA testing and close-out activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of field engineering or construction management experience for large, complex heavy-civil infrastructure projects.
• Working knowledge of construction plans, specifications, submittals, and RFIs, interpreted on site.
• Experience maintaining construction field records, including daily reports and quantity records.
• Experience with construction materials testing and QA documentation on heavy civil projects.
• Experience with document control and field documentation software (e.g., Bluebeam Revu, Procore, Aconex).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily construction activities against approved plans and permits, documenting what was built and under what conditions.
• Prepare and maintain project field records including daily reports, quantities, photos, and site condition logs.
• Verify installed quantities and support review of pay applications.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and material documentation for conformity with contract documents.
• Coordinate RFIs and drive responses to closure to avoid delays.
• Witness and document acceptance testing and materials sampling under QA program.
• Verify structures work against approved drawings before contractor proceeds.
• Document field issues and changed work to support change/claim positions.
• Support construction oversight around active corridors and facilities.
• Assist close-out, punch list tracking, and turnover documentation.
