Job summary

Luster National is seeking Field Engineers of varying levels to support large, complex heavy civil infrastructure programs, including highways, bridges, transit, aviation, and water/wastewater projects.

You will monitor field activities, prepare reports, coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams, and help ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards. This posting covers future opportunities and talent pool activation for upcoming needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in field engineering or construction management on large >$500M projects
  • Strong knowledge of drawings, specs, submittals, and RFI processes across delivery methods
  • Familiarity with scheduling, quality control, and document management processes
  • Experience with industry standard project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and field documentation platforms (e.g., Procore, Aconex)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily construction activities for compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain field reports, logs, and documentation of progress, quantities, and site conditions.
  • Support development of work plans, look-ahead schedules, and coordination of upcoming construction activities.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to support timely delivery of materials, equipment, and field resources.
  • Participate in quality control activities, including inspections, material sampling, and documentation of test results.
  • Track and verify installed quantities to support progress billing, earned value reporting, and cost tracking.
  • Support safety initiatives through field engagement, toolbox talks, and reinforcement of safety culture.
  • Support and coordinate resolution of field issues with construction, design, and quality teams.
  • Prepare and track responses to RFIs for timely, technically accurate communication.
  • Participate in project close-out activities, including punch lists and as-built records.
