Job summary

Luster seeks Field Engineers for California-based heavy civil infrastructure projects, spanning highways, bridges, transit, aviation, and water systems. Positions in this pool support field operations, ensure technical accuracy, and uphold safety standards.

Applicants should have extensive experience and be prepared for future opportunities in a talent pool. Responsibilities include daily site monitoring, documentation, coordinating with teams, and contributing to QA, safety, and close-out

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in field engineering, construction inspection, or field construction management on large and complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specs, submittals, and RFI processes across delivery methods.
  • Experience with project scheduling, quality control, and document management processes.
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Procore, e-Builder, Aconex, HeadLight, and AASHTOWare Project Construction & Materials.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily construction activities for compliance with plans, specs, and safety requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain field reports, logs, and documentation of progress and site conditions.
  • Support development of work plans, look-ahead schedules, and coordination of upcoming construction activities.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams for timely delivery of materials and resources.
  • Participate in quality control activities, including inspections, sampling, and test result documentation.
  • Track and verify installed quantities to support progress billing and cost tracking.
  • Support safety initiatives through toolbox talks and site safety culture reinforcement.
  • Assist in resolution of field issues with design and quality teams.
  • Prepare and track responses to RFIs to ensure alignment with design baselines.
  • Assist in project close-out activities including punch lists and as-built records.
