Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an intern to gain hands-on exposure to construction management, with opportunities to contribute to field operations, scheduling, and cost control across power and industrial projects.

You will work with a diverse team, learn to prepare estimates, review drawings, and support subcontractor coordination while developing leadership and safety skills in a dynamic environment. Relocation may be required to project sites across the United States.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret project drawings and owner specifications.
• Experience or familiarity with project scheduling and cost control concepts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; knowledge of SureTrak, Hard Dollar, Revit, SAP, Pro Log and Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to travel/relocate as required and maintain safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team to build, estimate, and schedule mechanical, electrical and heavy industrial systems.
• Support administrative and construction activities; review proposals, perform takeoffs, prepare cost estimates.
• Learn to supervise subcontractors and communicate with vendors.
• Prepare work plans, assure quality, track costs and materials, schedule equipment, maintain safety programs.
• Aspire to lead in fast-paced heavy construction and be ready to relocate.
• Relocation is required.
