Job summary

Kiewit offers a hands-on internship in construction management, giving you the chance to develop, participate in, and learn key roles within the field. You will work with a diverse team to build, estimate, and schedule mechanical, electrical and heavy industrial systems while supporting safety and cost-control activities.

The program is a full-time temporary internship under the Power Market, with opportunities to travel and relocate as projects span across the United States.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering or related degree.
• Must be legally authorized to work without requiring sponsorship for employment to begin or continue employment with our company.
• Broad knowledge of project scheduling and cost control; ability to read and understand project owner specs and engineering drawings.
• Microsoft Office proficiency; familiarity with SureTrak, Hard Dollar, Revit, SAP, ProLog and/or Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to travel and relocate as required; reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

• Work with a vibrant and diverse team to build, estimate, and schedule mechanical, electrical and heavy industrial systems.
• Support administrative and construction activities by reviewing proposals/specifications, drawings, material takeoffs, and cost estimates; attend pre-bid meetings.
• Learn to supervise subcontractors and communicate with vendors.
• Prepare work plans, ensure quality control, track costs and materials, schedule equipment, and oversee safety programs.
• Demonstrate drive to excel in fast-paced, heavy construction environments; willingness to relocate.
