Job summary

FlatironDragados is seeking field engineer interns/co-ops currently enrolled in an engineering or construction management program. You will work on-site at project locations, assist the project team, interpret plans, and support scheduling, QC, and design tasks using CAD tools.

The role offers hands-on training, exposure to field conditions, and opportunities to contribute to safety and efficiency on active construction sites.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Engineering, Construction Management or similar undergraduate program at an accredited college or university.
• Strong willingness to apply academic training to real-world field projects.
• Ability to read plans, specs and cost code knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with evaluation of field conditions and acceptance testing.
• Support QA/QC engineering materials testing.
• Apply survey knowledge to project layout and checking of work against plans.
• Review project drawings and coordinate design changes.
• Provide document control for correspondence, submittals and releases.
• Initiate engineering design clarifications.
• Track quantities and analyze productivity to improve efficiency.
• Assist with updating project schedules and coordinating with scheduling decisions.
• Respond to field design clarifications and manage subcontractor activities.
• Provide design assistance to the project engineer for temporary structures using CAD tools.
