Job summary

FlatironDragados invites students to join the Summer 2027 Intern Program in San Antonio as Field Engineer Interns. You will apply classroom knowledge to real projects, supporting field staff and engineers.

The role emphasizes site evaluation, surveying, and documentation control across active construction sites. Ideal candidates are enrolled in Civil Engineering or Construction Management programs, with a willingness to learn, adapt quickly, and contribute to project schedules and quality

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an Engineering, Construction Management, or similar program at an accredited college.
• Currently pursuing a degree with focus on field engineering and construction methods.
• Strong willingness to learn and apply on-site engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with evaluation of field conditions and acceptance testing
• Support QA/QC engineering materials testing
• Apply survey knowledge to aid project layout and checks for conformance
• Review project drawings and coordinate design changes
• Provide document control assistance for correspondence, submittals, design releases etc.
• Initiate engineering design clarifications
• Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis for efficiency
• Assist with preparing and updating project schedule and coordination
• Respond to field for design clarification and manage subcontractors on site
• Provide design assistance to the project engineer for temporary structures using CAD
