Job summary

FlatironDragados in Frederick, MD is offering a Field Engineer Intern/Co-op position. You will assist the on-site team, apply surveying and design principles, and support project scheduling and documentation in a real-world setting.

You will work with Project Manager and Project Engineer, gaining exposure to field conditions, QA/QC, and drawing reviews. Enrolled in an Engineering or Construction Management program is required, with benefits including tuition reimbursement and career development

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Engineering, Construction Management, or related program at an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Assist with evaluation of field conditions and acceptance testing.
• Support quality assurance and quality control engineering materials testing.
• Apply survey knowledge to assist with project layout and checking of work to confirm conformance with plans and specifications.
• Review project drawings and coordinate design changes.
• Provide document control assistance for correspondence and submittals.
• Initiate engineering design clarifications.
• Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis for operation efficiency.
• Assist with updating project schedule and interact with scheduling decision makers.
• Respond to field design clarifications and manage subcontractors' field operations and payments.
• Provide design assistance to the project engineer for temporary structures using CAD tools.
