Job summary

HNTB is seeking an intern to assist with engineering inspection and documentation of construction work on our projects in Plano, TX. The role focuses on ensuring conformance to plans, specs, and regulatory requirements while supporting resident engineers and project teams.

You will perform field inspections, assist with material testing coordination, read drawings, and help prepare progress reports and reports for project records.

Qualifications

• This role requires hands-on field inspection and documentation work on construction projects.
• Must be current or former HNTB intern, pursuing relevant engineering studies.
• Ability to read drawings, interpret specs, and assist in QC processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction field tasks to ensure conformance to plans and specs.
• Observe on-site material testing and assist in testing coordination.
• Read and interpret drawings and identify discrepancies in documents.
• Review daily reports and document progress with photos/video.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineer and assist in issue resolution.
