Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Entry Level Field/Office Engineer eager to grow in a dynamic heavy civil transportation district. The role offers exposure to field and office engineering tasks, including takeoffs, data gathering, and coordination across project teams.

You will assist with plans, surveys, JHAs, cost data, and submittals while developing technical and safety skills. Relocation may be required for project assignments in the Southeast region.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of related professional experience in the construction field.
• Ability to travel and relocate as required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Field Engineering: support interpretation of drawings, quantity takeoffs, work plans, site layout, daily timesheets, JHA's, underground scenarios, safety reviews, material deliveries, and jobsite coordination.
• Office Engineering: prepare data for submittals, takeoffs, data entry into cost systems, and purchasing support.
• Estimating: assist in historical data review, bid plan/spec reviews, and material takeoffs.
